About Ethereum

Ethereum is a smart-contract network, and ETH is its native coin, used to pay transaction fees (gas). It runs on proof of stake, with a new block every 12 seconds.

Ethereum deposits usually confirm in 2 to 5 minutes. Swapnoir also supports ETH on the layer 2 networks Arbitrum One, Base and Optimism. They use the same 0x address format as Ethereum, and so do ERC20 tokens such as USDT and USDC, which are different coins: send ETH only to an order that shows ETH on the network you are sending from.

Tips for Ethereum

  • Keep some ETH for gas

Sending your deposit costs a small gas fee in ETH, so leave a little extra in the wallet.

  • Check the coin, not just the address

One Ethereum address can hold ETH and tokens. Make sure the order page shows the coin you are actually sending.

  • Send from a regular wallet

Send from a normal wallet address rather than a smart-contract wallet, so the deposit is picked up straight away.

Questions

About swapping Ethereum. The help centre covers deposits, refunds and privacy.

Open the help centre
How fast is an Ethereum deposit?

Usually 2 to 5 minutes. The exchange starts as soon as the deposit has enough confirmations.

Can I swap ETH on Arbitrum, Base or Optimism?

Yes. Choose ETH · Arbitrum One, ETH · Base or ETH · Optimism as the coin you send or get. These networks share the 0x address format with Ethereum, so check that your wallet is set to the network shown on your order.

What fees do I pay?

The amount shown under You get already includes the exchange fee and the network fee for your payout. Your own wallet charges gas to send the deposit.
